About our primary
Alderwood International School is a co-educational pre-prep and prep school in the heart of Abuja for children aged 3months to 11 years. It is a young school opened in 2011 to address the shortage of affordable International schools in Abuja and has quickly gained popularity, laying strong foundations in literacy and reasoning, as well as on raising well-rounded children with a wide extra-curricular programme. A.I.S teaches the major components of the England national curriculum (including English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Music, Art) and Swimming and lawn tennis are also offered. Pupils take some subjects in French, making AIS children bi-lingual. Aditionally, children also have to choose a second Modern Foreign Language (Spanish, Mandarin or Arabic).
There is an extensive extra curricular programme which includes Mad Science, Young Engineers, Taekwondo, Ballet, Tennis, Chess, gymnastics, etc.
